The Genre task

 I got some images from an indie pop band. The band and songs that chose was first called tres oui. These were Some of the photos that I chose. This whole song all centered around one main image of a band with the lead singers face in the middle of the screen.

                                        In this shot you can see the whole band performing showing each artist member. This seems to be a live performance type of music video.It shows how they are as a group. 

This shot shows a guitarist that is playing the guitar. There are more shots like this in the song closed up on eacch band member. This does not have multiple different shots and locations because it is one band performing in this one space so It just wants to focus on the band and not anything else.

The clours are quite unique in this band performance, in some parts it it blue, in some other parts the image color is purple. There are different colors that can be used. I feel like that we ca n really take something from this video with the lighting and use lighting in the music video so it is very unique. This was the main aspect of this music video that I found unique which was the lighting. 

This was the song that I brought to my group. We compared all of the songs we brought to the class and compared them to see what elements we could bring in to our music video.

This song was called Nightmares by Easy life. All of these shots clearly make this song very unique. There are bright colours  in all of these shots and that shows that the mood of this song is quite happy and ubpeat which contrasts with the name of the song. It shows some sort of narrative about a boy in a hospital, however it does not really much and is mostly about the visuals. The set is in a hospital. The hospital set is something that is very unique about this song and was created in a studio. The people in this song are all different ages and I dont think the whole band are shown in this specific song. I like some of the aspects of this music video such as the light vibrant colors. It has a very happy tone to it which fits with the mood with our band that we chose and the whole theme of this song fits with our track.

This next song was called Hi by Indoor Pets. This music video also has very bright colors in it with one of the band having a bright yellow shirt. Someone seems to be jumping on a trampoline. They all are having fun in this video. This music video as more about the whole band having fun and jut focusing on their music rather than creating a narrative. This music video is the type of fun music video that we are going for. It was similar to the nightmares song because both of them use very bright colors. 

This One is called the Goa express. In This one, it shows a narrative. This narrative seems to be about a group of boys that are traveling the world. This one seems to have a location to it. Rather than being filmed in a studio. This type of indie pop music video would not be possible as it could not be filmed in a studio.  This still presents some for of performance as all of the other photos do with the band having shots in this video where they are performing. This one is probbably the one with the most story out of all of the other songs. This type of whole idea is interesting and how it is a lot different to the other indie pop bands we looked at.

This one is called Lacuna Common. It is by English Weather. This one is very similar to the band I chose with it just being a performane with an audience. This one uses different lights. In the third shot in this sheet it shows purple lights being used, this is very similar to the band I looked at as there were purple and blue lights in hte band I looked at. This one looks very intense, it gives off a very hard core rock vibe. This type of video would not be possible. The people in this song seem to be having fun performing. It all shows their unity as a band when the music video is just a performance. This can be useful for our band to see how we might film the individual band members. 

This is a picture of all of the different Artists that we looked at. We looked at all of them and saw what they had in common. Two of them were live performances that were being filmed for a music video. Two of them were very unique and fun and utilized very bright colours. One of them had more of a narrative to it, that one was really the only one that seemed to have a bigger narrative than the others. The hospital one did seem like it had a narrative, but it was really just an extra addition, and  the video is mostly focused on the artists and the colours. What all of them had in common is that all of them were having fun with each other performing. We decided we just wanted to focus our band on the actual artists and them just performing and having fun. It would be very similar to the hospital music video and Hi by Indoor pets, as they both have very bright colors and have a more fun feeling to it.
